Module 1:
In Vehicle Driver Evaluation & Coaching
Introduction
This training is designed towards safety awareness training and risk management in addition to providing you with the tools dive with fuel efficiency in mind.
• Fuel efficient drivers result in lower running costs, improved profit margins and reduced emissions.
• Safer drivers mean less injuries and fatalities on our roads, less accidental damage to vehicles, less unproductive downtime for vehicle repair, and the potential for reduced insurance premiums.
• Fuel Efficient Drivers = Safer Drivers = Good Risk Management.
Course objectives/aims
The training will raise driver awareness, concentration and observation skills:
• Understand ECO driving and defensive driving methods.
• Utilise driving techniques that will save fuel.
• Decrease your fuel consumption by planning and managing your travel.
• Learn about new vehicle technologies.
• Take action to improve your vehicles performance and save money on repairs.
Course content
• Explain the theory of eco and defensive driving.
• Understanding your vehicle and how it affects performance.
• Eco driving techniques.
• Fuel saving measures.
• Use of technology.
• Defensive driving techniques.
• Driver attitude.
• Concentration.
• Observation and anticipation – space, time, other road users.
• Effects of fatigue.
• Pre-use vehicle checks and defect identification.

Duration
2 hour per session (1 hour 45 minutes training and 15 minutes for Q&A).

Module 2:
In Vehicle Driver Evaluation & Coaching
Introduction
Our Defensive and Eco drive Training involves in-cab driver tuition aimed to help businesses reduce fuel and maintenance costs, reduce CO2 emissions and improve safety through enhanced driving techniques, increased driver awareness, vehicle control and fuel economy.
Course objectives/aims
Our Defensive and Eco drive Training Programme will deliver:
• Improved driver performance in L/100km.
• Average fuel savings of 8%.
• Real and immediate bottom-line savings €€€s.By simply reducing fuel consumption by 1,000 litres per year will save €1,100 and 2.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions (assuming a price of €1.10 per litre, ex VAT).
• Fuel Efficient Drivers = Safer Drivers = Good Risk Management.
• Counteract the cost of rising fuel prices.
• Reduce running costs and emissions.
• Improve profit margins.

Course content
• Driver compliance check – driver CPC, eyesight and licence checking.
• Basic principles of fuel consumption and driver safety:
– An overall awareness of fuel economy and road layout.
– Better use of gears (to avoid over-revving and unnecessary gear changes).
– Keeping correct distances (to avoid hard braking).
– Safe and fuel-efficient driving techniques.
On Road Vehicle checks and risks.
• Drive 1 – Driver risk assessment and identification of driver competences.
• Review of key areas for improvement and coaching.
• Drive 2 – Application of techniques and coaching for best performance.
• Final feedback session and future action planning.
• Review of fuel saved with driver.
Who should attend?
Drivers of any vehicle wishing to improve driving techniques and reduce vehicle running costs.
Duration
2 hours per driver – maximum 3 drivers per day.
